How to Delete Spotify Account. Spotify is easily one of the most popular music streaming services on the internet right now. Used by millions, Spotify can be accessed via mobile phones (there’s an app on the iPhone and Android) or the web browser. Spotify allows individuals to listen to songs from some of the biggest record labels in the industry, such as Sony, Universal as well as the Warner Music Group and EMI. Users have to pay a monthly subscription fee in order to use the services of Spotify. With more than 10 million users active on the website, along with 2.5 million subscriptions (paid), Spotify is one of the largest online music streaming services right now. However, for people who no longer want to use Spotify, here’s how to deactivate your account completely:
1. Open your web browser and log in to Spotify
The first step is to open your web browser and log in to Spotify. Write www.spotify.com in your browser and log in to the website by filling out your user name and password.
2. Click the About section
Once you have logged in to Spotify, scroll down to the bottom of the page. You will see a link that says ‘About’. Click on it; the About link is located right beside others such as Jobs, Press and News (as shown in the picture).
3. Click on the Contact Form
From the About section, visit the section that says ‘Customer Service and Support’. The Customer Service and Support section has a number of different ways from where a customer can get help regarding the services offered by Spotify. Click on the Contact Form.
4. Fill it out
Fill out the contact form. In step number 1, where the drop down menu is given, click on “Remove/ Cancelling Spotify”. Under the second drop down menu, click on ‘Delete/ Close my Spotify Account’. Under the third drop down menu, you can highlight the reason for account closure, and then specify it in the dialogue box provided. Submit the form, and your account will be closed.
